When I started this newsletter, I committed to myself (and you) that I would set some healthy and productive habits. I’m happy to say that they’re sticking. Well, at least the primary one is because that’s the only one I can remember. Lol.
I committed to writing every day. Either here or for my books or for work. And I’ve been doing it. Mostly for books and job hunting but cover letters don’t write themselves and since they have to be customized for every position…there’s a lot of writing going on. Anyway, here’s what’s up.
I started my nonprofit!
I’m still working on the website and the EIN hasn’t come in yet. But the paperwork is filed, and as soon as it’s approved, I’ll post a link here. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, at least ten years…but just never had the time to prioritize it. But now that I don’t have to worry about conflicts of interest or employers “owning” the idea, I’m trying to get everything done. So, be prepared to get hit up for donations…and board members in a future newsletter. I’ll officially be in fundraising mode very soon!
Need anything from Amazon?
Part of the process for getting my app completed is accessing the Amazon API. But in order to get access to it, I need an “active” affiliate account. That sounds easy but it’s actually not. They don’t make it easy to get approval so I need to jump through a few hoops, including having a certain number of sales through my links. So, I set up a page with book links that access the affiliate link. If you need to place any Amazon orders, feel free to click through to this page first and then you can search for whatever product you want. You don’t need to buy one of these books, just get to Amazon and then click on whatever you need. It’ll help get my app finished even faster!!!
Pumpkin Spiced Chai, anyone…
I’m not a coffee drinker. I’ve never allowed myself to develop a taste for it because I never wanted to be addicted to anything. And most coffee drinkers I know would definitely describe themselves as addicts to the stuff. But I do visit Starbucks almost daily. Not for coffee but for just about everything else. Most days it’s iced tea or peppermint hot chocolate. If it’s early in the morning, sometimes both. Needless to say, I’ve never had a pumpkin spiced latte. So, imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered the pumpkin spiced chai? It’s a chai latte with pumpkin cream foam or something like that. I’m not entirely sure what’s in it but it’s yummy. I highly recommend if you like chai…and pumpkin spiced stuff.
Okay, no one ever promised these would be entertaining or educational. And if I did, obviously, I lied. These really are just random musings… lol.
Until next time,
